In 2006, after 23 years at the Carter Center of Emory University, Ken Stein, an adviser to the former president, publicly resigned from his position because of Jimmy Carter's just published Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid. 14 board members of the Carter Center also resigned after the book was published.
